ABOUT ME

Hello, I'm Debbie

I have always loved wearing hats and fascinators. My interest in designing and making them was sparked when I lived for a time in Australia and I noticed the wonderful millinery creations that ladies wore to race day events. On my return to Scotland I attended Ladies Day at Perth Racecourse wearing a fascinator I had made and an obsession was born.

When I began I was completely self-taught, reading any millinery book I could find and watching tutorials. I then took a blocking course with a well respected North East milliner who had made hats for the Queen and the wife of the then First Minister.

This gave me the knowledge and confidence to block my own shapes which opened up a whole new world in millinery design. I am constantly learning and developing new techniques and I am very proud to now be a registered member of the British Millinery Association.

Millinery fashion is constantly changing and evolving and I love to be able to be a small part of my client’s big day. The right hat or fascinator should complete an outfit and compliment the client’s style and personality. Bespoke millinery offers the opportunity to get the look you want designed and made exclusively for you.

What is the benefit of having a piece of bespoke millinery made for you?

A bespoke piece takes into consideration your face shape and hair style, compliments your outfit and shows your individual personality.
How long does it take to make a bespoke piece?

It depends on the style of the piece. Some larger pieces can take a shorter time than smaller more intricate pieces but each piece can have between 5 and 20 hours work involved in making them.
What is the lead time on ordering a hat or fascinator?

There is currently a six week lead time on a bespoke headpiece. If you require something quicker than six weeks please contact us to discuss if a shorter lead time is possible.
What happens at the first appointment?

We look at the style of your outfit and accessories, take into consideration your hairstyle, face shape and which side you want to wear your fascinator or hat. You can try on various different styles and look at different materials. A design will be agreed and the order placed.
